Tribal Fusion Art

About Tribal Fusion Art

Tribal Fusion Art, a sanctuary where glass artistry meets traditional Indigenous teachings and modern creativity, located on the south shore of Nova Scotia. Our studio is not just a place to create; it’s a space where art forms a bridge between the past and the present, fostering a deep connection with Indigenous culture through every piece crafted within its walls.

Melinda Robertson

One Voice Woman

Owner, Tribal Fusion Art

Melinda, known as One Voice Woman traditionally, brings to her art a proud connection to her heritage and a passionate voice for cultural expression.

With over two decades of experience in glass art, Melinda’s work is deeply rooted in the Anishinaabe traditions, blending these rich cultural narratives with her unique artistic vision. Her creations are not just visually stunning but are imbued with stories and teachings that resonate with both the heart and the spirit.

Melinda is a member of Lake Manitoba First Nation, an Anishinaabe community in Central Manitoba. She currently lives in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

Shannon Monk

Eagle Who Opens the Door

Owner, Sakatay Global

Shannon, whose traditional name is Eagle Who Opens the Door, is known for her dynamic approach to art and education, which opens new perspectives and possibilities in the world of Indigenous and glass art.

Shannon’s dedication to sharing and expanding the understanding of First Nations people and culture in Canada is inspired by the courage and vision of an eagle.  This passion reflects both innovation in a non-traditional art form and reverence for ancestral knowledge.

Shannon is a member of St. Theresa Point First Nation, an Anishininew community in Northern Manitoba.  She also has Mi’kmaw roots from Lennox Island First Nation in PEI, and Celtic roots from the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. She is currently an artist in residence at Friends United Gallery near Port Hawksbury, Cape Breton.
