Tribal Fusion Art is where glass art meets Indigenous culture. With studios on Nova Scotia’s South Shore and in Cape Breton, Melinda Robertson and Shannon Monk create original fused and stained glass artwork, cultural products, and hands-on experiences grounded in Indigenous teachings, creativity, and connection. We offer a unique blend of cultural immersion and artistic expression, providing an unforgettable experience for both locals and visitors.
Tribal Fusion Art is a partnership between two First Nation fused glass and stained glass artists, Melinda Robertson and Shannon Monk, who have dedicated over 20 years each to mastering the art of glass. Together, we offer unique and custom art glass cultural products and experiences grounded in Indigenous knowledge.
The Seven Grandfather Teachings are values shared across generations, often offered as guides for living in good relationship with ourselves, one another, and the world around us.
Love. Respect. Courage. Honesty. Humility. Wisdom. Truth.
Each teaching is represented here through a symbolic mosaic design, created to invite reflection, conversation, and hands-on connection through art. You can explore these teachings in two ways:
Learn more about the meaning behind each design, then explore mosaic art kits you can bring home, create at your own pace, and use as a starting point for reflection and conversation.
Take part in one of our hands-on workshops at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, where you can create your own mosaic piece in person, guided by the artists, in a welcoming, guided setting.
Collaborate with our artists to commission your own Custom Art Piece.
Each experience is designed to connect you deeply with the heritage and craftsmanship of Indigenous glass art.
We offer a Made to Order (MTO) collection—an easy and convenient way to purchase handcrafted fused glass pieces with a short turnaround time.
We excel at creating bespoke fused and stained glass pieces that serve as exceptional corporate gifts and custom awards.
For those looking for something truly unique, our Custom Design service allows you to collaborate with our artists to bring your vision to life.
